Dynamic spacetime
Chemical rockets treat distance as a wall. A post-relativistic paradigm would treat distance as a parameter. If geometry itself can be sheared, tilted, or locally scaled, the solar system stops being an escape room and becomes a room you can leave without violating the thing light is.
The Nakamoto already flies a derivation method that makes transit time unequal to the time a body feels. The book is careful: this is engineering inside a constraint, not a wish. The next volume asks what happens when the constraint itself can be addressed — not by going faster than light, but by changing how much space the light has to cross.
This is a research program, not a demonstration. The archive files it as a civilizational bottleneck: until geometry is a tool, we colonize with patience and robots, not with families.

If a grander unification (the kind of SU(4) talk that keeps showing up in serious fringe-adjacent theory) is real, quarks, electrons, and neutrinos are not separate kingdoms. They are orientations. ‘Rotating’ matter toward lighter, decaying modes would be a new chemistry — and a new weapon. Dark-light systems. Unprecedented cooperation required, because the same move that feeds a city can unmake a continent.
The Keth, in the novel, unified, expanded, and then did what governing structures do at scale and over time. Energy without a trustworthy allocation is how a species finishes itself. Bitcoin is in the book because the next physics is too powerful to rest on issuers.
Treat this as a warning label on curiosity. The archive will not pretend a unification is confirmed. It will also not pretend the political problem is smaller than the physical one.
After we civilize ourselves
True interstellar contact
A monitoring civilization does not owe us a conversation because we split the atom. Contact is what you get when you can keep a promise at planetary scale: no first-use of the new forces, no issuer-class money, no story that rewrites the last century because it was inconvenient. The door to galactic relations is not a radio. It is adulthood.
In 2096 a signal arrived from Andromeda — a greeting and a question. Humanity spent millennia managing the fact of it. The Nakamoto was built to answer in a grammar the other side could read, and in a language of our own: Bitcoin’s mathematics, forty-seven questions, the evidence of what the ledger made possible. That is the book’s definition of being ready.
We are not the most advanced life in a large enough universe. The humiliating version of that sentence is also the hopeful one.

The stack that has to hold
Bitcoin is the honesty layer. Energy is the physics layer. Compute is the amplification layer. AI is the labor that does not sleep. None of these replace the others. A species that gets AI without a non-issuer money reprints the canyon settlement at planetary scale: contribution hours on paper, favor in practice. A species that gets energy without honesty builds Corso’s Order with better reactors.
SATO is already the argument for aligned machine intelligence: precise, unwilling to soothe, authorized on a chain it cannot edit. The human work is to remain the mechanism — the one who sits at the console and does not look away.
Scale Bitcoin. Cheapen energy. Tell the truth with machines. Then, and only then, pick up the geometry.
