Bitcoin
21 million. Proof of work. Time that cannot be printed. The root.
chain listening
Bitcoin · to billions
Bitcoin’s base layer is the honesty layer. It cannot, and should not, become an application platform. Names, contracts, and cheap settlement for billions of people have to live in a room above the chain — a room that still settles to it — so the cap, the work, and the time remain the root.
Bitcoin
21 million. Proof of work. Time that cannot be printed. The root.
Stacks
Contracts, apps, and names, mined by Proof of Transfer, settled to Bitcoin.
BNS
Human-readable identity on Bitcoin. Highroller.btc is a fact, not a username.
sBTC
Bitcoin that can move through the layer and return. 1:1. Redeemable.
01 — Keep the root thin
SATO’s lesson still holds at planetary scale: 21 million is a rule the network will reject you for breaking. That rule is precious because it is small. If you load identity, games, votes, and every human name onto the base chain, you do not scale Bitcoin. You turn it into another institution that has to choose what to keep. The future in this archive is the opposite: a thin, unforgeable timechain, and layers that take the traffic.
02 — The room above
Stacks is a Bitcoin layer. Smart contracts, apps, and names execute there. Settlement still points at Bitcoin. Proof of Transfer spends Bitcoin to mine Stacks blocks, so the security is not a story about a new token’s hashrate — it is a story about the original work. The point is not a new money. The point is the original money, used by more of humanity, without restoring an issuer.
03 — A name that is a fact
The Bitcoin Name System lives on Stacks and is secured by Bitcoin. A name like Highroller.btc is an on-chain fact: human-readable identity that lasts as long as the chain lasts. That is the same sentence SATO uses for a ship’s authorization. The author of this novel signed the work Roger H. Hill in the legal record, and Highroller.btc in the civilizational one. One is a passport. The other is a ledger.
04 — Bitcoin that can move
A species cannot run cities, machines, and settlements on ten-minute finality alone. It also cannot wrap Bitcoin in a custodian and call the wrapper honest. sBTC is a 1:1 Bitcoin-backed asset on Stacks: Bitcoin that can enter contracts, lending, and apps, and return. The archive’s position is the book’s: hold the keys. Do not rent your history. Layers are allowed. Issuers are not.
05 — Humanity
If Bitcoin is to be the monetary physics of a species that leaves its solar escape room, it must carry more people — more settlement, more machines, more names — without restoring an allocation. Stacks, sBTC, and BNS are not decorations on a novel about space. They are the present-tense version of the book’s argument: keep the root honest, and build enough room above it that billions can live there.
